We traveled to Africa a few years back in search of new collaborations with artists from all over the continent. On our Journey we recorded over 13 songs in 4 countries and Akwaaba is one of the gems that was created. We got connected with a Ngoni/African Harp player who lived on the Coast of Ghana and from the moment we met, we knew we'd be great friends. After enjoying some drinks and tokes on the beach, we went back to our hotel room and set up a mini recording studio and got to work. Ben Ada has been playing music for his whole life and it really showed when we started laying down tracks. Most of the recordings we got in 1 or 2 takes and after a super fun studio session we had 4 original songs! Akwaaba means "welcome" in Ghana and is used all the time. Landing in Africa we had no idea what to expect, but from the moment we set foot on the mother continent, we felt so welcomed and loved that it was really hard to leave. There will be a 4 song EP Coming out this summer with more sounds from Africa, but in the meantime, I wanted to leave you with this single to chew on while you wait!
